On-Site Session aims towards delivering the knowledge of how art and science are connected together through science experiments.
The session will focus on how to extract the DNA from the strawberry in order to picture it under the microscope and create art out of it.
We will need :
In this section we will introduce the participant to the program, and we will ice-break to motivate them.
1- The full program is a 3 days start with extracting the DNA and ends as an art.
2- We will explain the steps to the participant as we are going to start with extracting the DNA from the strawberry, and then we will assemble a microscope (Foldscope), then we will design the picture we will take from the microscope, and we will vinyl cut it.
3- We will then Ice-Break with the participant through a question.
4- Then we will explain the meaning of science for the participant, As a knowledge that study the physical world and phenomena.
5- Then we will describe art to the participant as any human activity that express creativeness also art can be a matter of human view as it differs from one to another.
6- Then we will start a linking between the science and the art through mentioning a common source of both, as physical world and phenomena are expressed and described from the nature around also, art started from the nature, and it will end there as the main source of beauty is nature.
7- Then we will ask them a question regarding the traits they have, how it came to them.
8- Then we will explain and describe that the DNA is in fact the reason of transferring the traits from the parents to the children’s.
9- Then we will show them a video explains the DNA.
10- Then we will ask them about the uses of the DNA.
