Summary

In this workshop, participants are going to learn the basics of video making and video editing by creating a digital fashion show. They will follow the theme of Ramadhan and customize their own characters

The Instructions

Presentation

During the presentation, the instructor will be explaining different concepts related to the topic of the workshop, and discussing them with the participants.

1- Who are we and what we do in Studio 56.

  • What is a Fablab.
  • What you find inside a Fablab.
  • The different zones of Studio 5/6: Technology, creativity, and software zones.

3- Client letter.

  • The story behind the purpose of this workshop.

4- What is fashion?

  • The definition of Fashion.

5- The combination of Fashion and Technology.

  • How Digital Fashion was created; by combining fashion with computers and digital fabrication.

6- Examples of Digitalized fashion products.

  • 3D printed products.
  • Products with Fiber optics.

7- Intro to the Animaker platform.

  • Introduction to the platform structure and interface.

8- What we will be doing today.

  • What is the final digital prototype.

Prototype

The instructor will be explaining the steps of building the prototype, and the participants will be following the steps.

1- Create an account

2- Introduction to the user-interface

  • How to add components

3- Add a background

  • Save a picture related to the theme (Ramadhan) to be used as background.
  • Upload the picture to the website.

4- Character design

  • How to design your customized character (colors, looks, ..etc).
  • Add the character to the scene.
  • Animate the character to do the walking animation.

5- Add second scene

  • Add “thank you” text.
  • Add the character to the scene.
  • Animate the character to do the walking animation.

6- Add background sound

  • Search for sound related to the theme (Ramadhan).
  • Upload the sound file to the website.

7- Add transition effects

8- Share the project

  • (Fab-Design.2): I can participate in design reviews with prepared presentation materials as well as give and receive feedback from peers.
